A digital printing pin uses high-resolution inkjet technology to print your design directly onto a metal base (usually brass or iron), then covers it with a clear, protective epoxy coating. Unlike traditional enamel pins that rely on filling colored enamel into metal grooves, digital printing pins can reproduce complex gradients, fine text, and photographic images (e.g., a team photo, a detailed landscape) that enamel pins can’t handle. They’re also cheaper for small batches and have a shorter production time—perfect for designs with tons of colors or intricate details.

Traditional enamel pins struggle with gradients and photos because they use solid color fills, but digital printing can reproduce every shade and detail of your team photo with photo-realistic clarity. The only thing to note: Use a high-resolution image (at least 300 DPI) for the best results—blurry low-res photos will look pixelated after printing.
